Coaching

You’re in one place and you want to get to somewhere else.  Somewhere bigger, brighter, somewhere more successful, maybe somewhere quieter, or maybe just somewhere different. Ultimately, somewhere that feels more like you.  But it’s not happening.  You’re struggling.  The things that got you here don’t seem to be getting you there.

The good news: you’re not broken.

The challenging news: you have a blind spot the size of yourself.

That’s where coaching comes in.

What coaching clients say

A winding road runs through yellowish grassy hills with sparse bushes, stretching into the distance under a cloudy sky.

Getting better at being yourself

Think of coaching like driver's ed: you're not a bad driver, you're just honing a new skill. You're in the driver's seat, and I'm your passenger-seat guide. I'll ask questions to help you clarify goals, build self-awareness, prepare for challenges, and unlock your full potential.

I take a question-based approach that helps you to tap into your own creativity, resourcefulness, and wholeness to achieve sustainable change

We'll work together to identify the thoughts, sensations, skills, and behaviors that bridge the gap between where you are and where you want to be.

Our coaching focuses on you as a whole person. We'll examine your skills, capacity, and awareness in relation to your aspirational goals, building an alliance to help you achieve them.

We work together to sharpen the skills that you have, develop the skills that you need, and shed the stories that no longer serve you

Unlike transactional learning, which offers single-instance solutions (e.g., "prepare for this meeting"), developmental coaching cultivates your overall capacity. For presentations, this shifts from "prepare for an upcoming meeting" to "sharpen my skill and presence." For wellbeing, it's not just "take more breaks," but "understand my relationship with work and make it work for me."

Because developmental goals are more expansive, they require time, exploration, and discovery, leading to a deeper understanding of hurdles and more sustainable, lasting change.

Making whole-person change

You're always your whole self, wearing many hats throughout your day and life—parent, executive, friend, hobbyist, leader. Coaching embraces this by taking a whole-person approach, recognizing that how you do one thing often reflects how you do everything.

You aren’t broken and you don’t need fixing

I won't "fix" you because you're not broken. You're your most powerful tool for shaping the life you want, as you know your drives, values, and desires best. As your coach, I'll help you see your beliefs, actions, and intentions more clearly, enabling you to get better at being yourself.

I look forward to working with you,
Buddy
